Got questions?

  • Who can join?

Anyone aged 13–18! Whether you’ve already made games or have never written a line of code, you’re welcome at Haven Bucharest.

  • Is it really free?

Yes! Attending Haven Bucharest is completely free, including pizza for lunch. Just bring your laptop, charger, and curiosity.

  • What will we make?

You’ll work on a video game using Godot! Our beginner activity is a 2D platformer, with room to add your own characters, levels, and ideas. We’ll also help you publish your project on GitHub and itch.io so you can share it.

  • Can I come on my own?

Absolutely! You don’t need to arrive with a team or know anyone beforehand. Come meet other teens who enjoy games and making things—or bring a friend along!

  • What if my parents have questions?

They can read the Haven parent guide or email haven@hackclub.com. For questions about the Bucharest event, you can also message our local Instagram account.

  • Where and when is it?

Haven Bucharest takes place on November 14, 2026, from 08:00 to 21:00. We’re hosted at Google România, on the 13th floor of Unirii View in Bucharest.

  • What if I’ve never coded before?

You’re exactly who this is for! We’ll help you get started with Godot and build a 2D platformer step by step. You don’t need to prepare a game or know how to code beforehand.

  • What should I bring?

Bring a laptop and its charger. A mouse is useful for making games, too! If you don’t have access to a laptop, contact us before signing up so we can discuss what might be possible.

  • Who’s behind Haven?

Haven Bucharest is organized by teens, for teens, as part of Hack Club—a global nonprofit and community of over 100,000 teenagers who learn by building technical projects.

  • How can I contact the Bucharest organizers?

Message us on Instagram at @haven.bucharest.hackclub! Whether you have a question, want to help participants with Godot, or would like to support the event, we’d love to hear from you.
