This November, YOU can join the world's largest teen game jam. Yes, you! It doesn’t matter if you have years of experience, or just learned what they are today.

You’ll join thousands of teens making games from all around the world. Don't consider yourself a game dev? No problem - we have tons of workshops for you to make your game!

This is your chance to learn something new, meet new friends, andgo on an incredible adventure together!

What happens on the day?

FAQ

  • Am I eligible?

    If you’re aged 13–18, you’re eligible! No coding experience needed.

  • When and where is it?

    Sunday 15 November, at The Cherwell School Sixth Form Centre, Marston Ferry Road, Oxford, OX2 7EE. It’s a one-day event of about 12 hours, and there’s no overnight stay.

  • What happens on the day?

    You’ll spend the day building your own game, on your own or in a team. At the end, everyone shows off what they made, and there are prizes for the best projects.

  • Do I need a team?

    No. You can come on your own, bring friends, or find teammates on the day.

  • I still have questions!

  • Is this free?

    Yes, completely free. Food and prizes are included too. Hack Club is a nonprofit that helps teenagers build real technical projects at no cost.

  • But I’ve never coded before!

    Perfect! Game jams are made for beginners. Organisers will be on hand to help, and you can team up with other people on the day.

  • What should I bring?

    Bring a laptop and charger, plus anything else you need to be comfortable for the day. If you don’t have a laptop, email us at oxford@haven.hackclub.com before the event.

  • What if my parents are concerned?

    We’re here to help! A parent or guardian will need to give consent when you sign up. They can read our parent guide or email us at oxford@haven.hackclub.com with any questions.
