It’s a social coding event where you make a video game with friends + free food!

This November, YOU can join the world's largest teen game jam. Yes, you! It doesn’t matter if you have years of experience, or just learned what they are today.

You’ll join thousands of teens making games from all around the world. Don't consider yourself a game dev? No problem - we have tons of workshops for you to make your game!

This is your chance to learn something new, meet new friends, andgo on an incredible adventure together!

Here is how you can join a game jam this November!

What happens on the day?

Saturday, November 14

  1. 9:00 Doors open + check-in Pick up your badge and find a spot to set up.
  2. 10:00 Opening ceremony What exactly are you going to be doing this weekend? We’ll explain the schedule, rules, and prizes.
  3. 10:30 Icebreakers + team forming Meet other hackers and form a team. Coming solo is totally fine!
  4. 11:00 Hacking starts The clock starts now: 24 hours to make your game!
  5. 11:00 Workshop: Godot I – Your first playable game Never made a game? Start here.
  6. 12:30 Lunch
  7. 13:00 Workshop: Git & GitHub for game jams Work on one project as a team without overwriting each other’s work.
  8. 14:30 Workshop: Godot II – Turn it into a game
  9. 16:30 Workshop: Pixel art in Aseprite Draw sprites and animations for your game.
  10. 18:00 Dinner
  11. 19:30 Bonus workshop You vote on the topic!
  12. 0:00 Midnight surprise

Sunday, November 15

  1. 0:00–7:00 Quiet hours Keep building quietly or catch some sleep in the quiet space.
  2. 8:00 Breakfast
  3. 9:45 Shipping clinic Get help exporting your game and getting it ready to submit.
  4. 11:00 Hacking ends Time’s up! Submit your game and get ready for demos.
  5. 12:00 Lunch
  6. 13:00 Demos + voting Show off your game, play everyone else’s and vote for your favorites.
  7. 14:30 Closing ceremony The best games are demoed on stage, then prizes and merch!
  8. 16:00 Wrap up!

FAQ

  • Am I eligible?

    If you’re age 13-18, you’re eligible! No prior experience required.

  • Is it overnight?

    Yes! Haven Prague is a 24-hour overnight game jam. We keep building through the night, and there will be a quiet space if you want to catch some sleep.

  • Can I come alone?

    Of course! Lots of people come solo and find a team at the start. You’re also welcome to bring friends and build together.

  • What if my parents are concerned?

    We’re here to help! Have them email us at prague@haven.hackclub.com with any questions.

  • Is this free?

    Yes, completely! Food included. Hack Club is a nonprofit helping teens build technical projects at no cost.

  • But I’ve never coded before!

    Perfect! Game jams are designed for beginners. You’ll have workshops, mentors, and teammates to help you every step of the way.

  • What should I bring?

    A laptop and its charger, headphones, a sleeping bag (and a pillow if you like), toiletries, and anything else you’d want for a night of building. We’ll take care of the food!
